For those who want unmatched diversity in a single journey, Nature Colombia takes you beyond everything most visitors see. Beyond the cities, beyond the coffee hills, beyond the version of Colombia that fills the travel pages — into two of the most extraordinary landscapes on earth.

The journey begins in Bogotá. Colombia’s high altitude capital is the gateway — the place where the story starts and the context for everything that follows. Three nights in a city that rewards the curious before the real departure begins.

From Bogotá the route moves east into the Llanos — the vast open plains that stretch towards Venezuela and cover nearly a third of Colombia’s entire landmass. Most international visitors never come here. That is the point. The Llanos are one of South America’s great wildlife destinations, largely unknown to the world outside Colombia. Capybaras move in groups along the river banks. Anacondas cross the dirt roads at dusk. Caimans line the water’s edge in numbers that make you recalibrate what wildlife actually means. Giant anteaters pick their way across the savannah. And the birds — Colombia is the country with more bird species than any other on earth, and the Llanos is one of the reasons why. The landscape itself is extraordinary — so flat, so vast, so open that the sky feels twice its normal size and the horizon seems to go on without end.

Then south. Further south than most travellers ever go in Colombia. The Amazon begins at Leticia — one of the most remote cities in South America, sitting on the triple border of Colombia, Peru and Brazil, accessible only by air or river. There are no roads in or out. What you find when you arrive is not the Amazon of television documentaries. It is the Amazon as a living system — understood and navigated by the communities that have been inside it for generations. The guides here do not follow a script. They read the river, the forest and the sky the way people do when their knowledge has been passed down rather than studied. An experience that is not available anywhere else on the Point Travel circuit, and not available anywhere else in the world.

Two landscapes. Two complete contrasts. One journey that goes further into Colombia than almost any tour available to international travellers.

Nature Colombia is currently in development. The itinerary is being built, the ground partnerships are being established and the research is underway.
